The Montessori was started in September 2004 with just one child. It has slowly built up a reputation as one of the few unique child centred preschools in Hertfordshire that still follows the traditional Montessori Ethos.
Located in an ideal 13 acres, the children will often come to school, having heard a wood pecker, or seen the horses in the fields. The school has now introduced Forest School Sessions which are very popular, but also allow the children to enjoy the woodland environment. The learning that happens is different from the traditional classroom , allowing the children to be part of nature and really understand the seasons.
The school has a lovely outdoor adventure playground which is used regularly.
Staff Team: Our highly professional and committed staff team consists of eight teachers who provide care to the highest standard ensuring the children remain happy, learn, follow their own unique developmental needs and interests and have fun whilst being stimulated and challenged at all times. The school has a team of eight teachers who deliver the teaching curriculum. We also have two very experienced teachers who teach French and Violin once a week.
The Rooms
The toddler room sessions are run in the mornings and/or afternoons and children also have the option for staying for lunch.
Casa children are aged around three years and can stay until they are six years old. Casa children have the option of staying for the whole day from 8.30 until 3 pm.
Casa Children have the option to move up to the Montessori Elementary school or find entry in many of the local schools.
The Baby session – This is highly recommended as the work done with the babies very early on show higher cognitive development and the latest research supports all this.
Meals and Snack Times:
Fresh Organic meals are part of our day. The children are provided with mostly organic and freshly cooked meals. The children are also given opportunities to choose their lunches.
Water and milk is available at all times.
